About Me

My name is Arub Syed and I am a freelance journalist based in England. I cover social, cultural and religious issues, as well as staying up to date with music, events and modern global cinema. I aim to shed light on life's unsavoury truths, ensuring that individuals take ownership of their narratives and can retell their stories with poise, justice and grace.

I also conduct several video and audio pieces, and recently created my first documentary in which I interviewed a gay asylum seeker from Pakistan. I was also a guest speaker at Asian Woman Festival 2019, appearing on the panel for Taboo No More.

In July 2023 I appeared on a panel at EssenceMediacom, where I was nominated to speak on judgments in South Asian communities for South Asian Heritage Month.
